Objectives: The agenda of the talk is to generate interest and share industry experience among the students and faculty members in the field of Internet of Things. The major objective of the talk is to foster learning and provoke inspiration to solve real-world challenges on the field of IoT Analytics.
Abstract of proceedings:
The Dept. of EEE, CSE, and the IETE Students’ Forum (Adamas University) jointly organized an Industrial Guest Lecture on "IoT Analytics" which is becoming an emerging career option for engineering graduates and professionals. The speakers have got expertise in this field and have been associated with TCS for last 19 years. The guest lecture was scheduled on 01/04/2022 between 11:15 AM – 12:30 PM. This was the first physical guest lecture organized by the department and the IETE student forum post pandemic (COVID19) and had a huge participation by 201 participants (191 students and 10 faculty members).
The guest lecture commenced with the significance of industrial revolution and gradually objectives of the session were highlighted. The expert went on to further elaborate the importance and need for IoT in modern day homes and industries (Industrial IoT). The speaker initially highlighted the ethics of AI/Data Scientists. Next, the speaker explained the significance of sensors in capturing data for an IoT enabled environment and related the topics to some daily life examples. In the next phase of interactive discussion the speaker explained the three fundamental laws of IoT (Moore’s Law, Kryder’s Law, and Nielsens’s Law). The speaker gave realistic examples to explain the significance of each of these laws leading to tremendous growth of IoT enabled devices. Finally, the speaker explained about the role of IoT in manufacturing industries and the role of data analytics in IoT for present and future industries.
