Objectives: The Adamas Global summit witnessed a gathering of scores of thought leaders from around the world sharing a common interest in enhancing the quality, access and outcome of higher education by creating an ecosystem through global collaboration and innovation. The daylong summit on ‘Innovation in Higher Education: Beyond Boundaries’ was aimed at introducing students to various career opportunities in healthcare, business, media, engineering, law, science and liberal arts. Various plenary sessions held under the aegis of various Schools of the University, were attended by the relevant Faculty and students. The SOET session culminated with the formal inauguration, by Hon’ble Dean of School of Engineering & Technology, Professor Sujoy Bhattacharya.. It was followed by keynote addresses delivered by distinguished speakers Mr. C. N. Raghupathi, Head, India Business, Infosys and Prof. Amlan Chakrabarti, Professor and the Director of the A.K.Choudhury School of Information Technology at the University of Calcutta. The session aimed at bridging boundaries in education through global exposure to knowledge, expanding research and development, and engaging with diverse people, chosen in appropriateness to the pedagogy of the School.

Abstract of proceedings:

The goals and strategic scope of the session conducted by SOET represented an opportunity to deepen and expand our common efforts of knowledge production, policy dialogue, exchange, and networking. Discussion by Keynote speakers were focused to consider the process of collective construction as the greatest richness of this session. The program was a global conversation nurtured by diverse narratives on higher education and latest technologies. We examined the role of higher education leaders and policymakers in identifying, adapting to and meeting rising expectations for progress in three different areas: students, institutions and wider higher education sector. The uprise of new Technologies and its contribution to multiple trajectories at the individual level of student success, at the institutional level of pedagogical and research excellence and relevance, and at the sector level of meeting the needs of society and being viewed as a crucial player in a post-pandemic world.
