A brief report on the Event –

On 18-07-2021, an 1-hour virtual lecture on Engineering through Storytelling was conducted for BTECH students. The lecture aimed to highlight the importance of storytelling in engineering and how it can be used to convey complex concepts and ideas to a wider audience. The lecture was attended by 83 participants from the BTECH program.

The speaker began by introducing the concept of storytelling and its importance in communicating ideas effectively. They then went on to discuss how storytelling can be used in engineering to explain complex technical concepts and ideas to a broader audience, including non-technical stakeholders.

The speaker also highlighted the various types of stories that can be used in engineering, including case studies, anecdotes, and narratives. They explained how each type of story can be used to convey a different message or idea, and provided examples of how these stories have been used in real-world engineering projects.

The lecture also covered the benefits of using storytelling in engineering, such as improving communication skills, building relationships with stakeholders, and creating a shared understanding of project goals and objectives. The speaker emphasized that storytelling is not just about entertaining people, but also about conveying important information in a memorable and engaging way.

Throughout the lecture, participants were encouraged to ask questions and share their own experiences with storytelling in engineering. The speaker provided practical tips and advice on how to incorporate storytelling into their own work, and how to develop their storytelling skills over time.

Overall, the lecture was well-received by participants, who found the topic to be both interesting and informative. Many participants expressed an interest in learning more about storytelling in engineering and how it can be used to improve communication and collaboration within teams. The lecture provided a valuable opportunity for BTECH students to learn from an experienced professional in the field and gain practical insights into the importance of storytelling in engineering.
